Frybread: Symbolism, Stereotypes, and Opportunities
Athena Cholas (Isleta Pueblo) lived for some of her childhood in New Mexico and then pioneered with her parents and siblings in Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Belize. Her work with the U.S. Department of Agriculture has allowed her to live in California, Hawaii, and American Samoa. As part of her work in regenerative agriculture, she is learning how traditional Indigenous knowledge can bring healing to land and people. She is a tribal member of the Isleta Pueblo and returned to her maternal roots to serve, build friendships, and share the revelation of Bahá'u'lláh with the Native American people in New Mexico.
